I'm sure she was all proud using that tired old standby answer on a 6th grade history paper, but the US ended up in that position for doing nothing more than what EVERY country does.....and that is to become as profitable as possible.
To think otherwise is just ignorance.
I've read your threads about your politicians and the only difference I can see is we have more of them. As your population rises the amount of politicians rises....and so do the games they play to line their own pockets.
Keep in mind...the entire population of your country is about the same as New York State's population. As the population grows...the corruption grows exponentially.

Wasn't exactly my reference but I see your point.
And understandibly there is cynicism amongst todays society, however lets not forget the reasons and efforts that went into the systems that were put in place.
Our ancestors wanted to improve life on earth for their offspring, fundamentally the only reason for existence, (amonst those whom attain the wisdom of leaders), hence my point.
There is a lot of unseen good that goes on, we tend to remember the negatives as they stand out and often we incorrectly interpret what is happening due to our past experiences.
If senators are able to reach such positions, they are obviously making decisions based on ethics, otherwise the system needs adjusting or I am somewhat naive.
Either way, be assured, the truth will prevail eventually.

You are right. Things do need to change and I think they will when my age group gets into those positions.

I see they do find you entertaining over there. I think the people here are friendlier (even the mean ones, lol) in general and every discussion doesn't involve politics. I steer clear of politics (usually) because it usually ends up with arguing.
You seem to be trying to figure out the psychology of why people do what they do. So do I, but not through political or biblical discussions. One I find boring and the other makes me angry, lol.

Too true, that has been the battle of the good since the dawn of time but is also like water off our ducks backs.
Nature knows no good or evil, it just does. Add some human thought, and it will always slant to good.
With an ID like jimmeh, I always thought you were dinky di aussie (aboriginal). (It's a common anglicised name for many aboriginal). Nice to see communication between the lands.

if the truth be known Jimmy is attracted to what I have to say ๐ There is that refreshing openness and unadorned view on things in general , not like the closed, protected dialogue that is so prevalent in the US of A ๐
