This is no longer the Australia we knew.

This is no longer something to be dismissed as just a problem with a tiny, unrepresentative minority:

The attack follows the knife attack on two police officers in Victoria that ended with an 18-year-old Islamic extremist being shot dead in Victoria.

NSW Police confirmed today that they were investigating the alleged attack on a member of the Australian Defence Force in full navy uniform at 6 o’clock this morning.

It is understood punches were thrown and threats of beheading were made.

A police spokesman confirmed the 41-year-old man allegedly suffered minor bruising in the attack and reported it later by telephone to Kings Cross police.

“The two men were described as being of middle eastern appearance,” the spokesman said.

Defence force families have already been put on high alert after an incident in Western Sydney in which two men of Middle Eastern appearance approached the house of a serving soldier and asked if defence force personnel lived there. 

They left after the wife of the soldier told them “no”.

NSW Police have also been told to be “vigilant” following the Melbourne attack by radicalised teenager Numan Haider.

and maybe he wanted a day off and his 15 minutes of fame. Being in the defence force isn't restricted to honest people.

Then again, maybe it was not as bad as he said it was.... or maybe he decided it wasn't worth the public anxiety created.

What happens to the sailor that was inciting hatred and how can our media be punished for enflaming it?  There is a whole lot of panic going on and if it sells papers it seems to be ok.

Not to mention that an immediate call on his mobile could have make it possible to catch these guys, IF they existed.  But considering that the ADF spokesperson all but acknowledged it did not happen, it was a provocation, pure and simple and I hope that this idiot is dealt with most severely.

Doubly disgusting???  did anybody get injured, have they found the perpetrator, and until they do the viscious attack on the police is the most frightening thing and that was done by a muslim jihadist, ignoring that is ignoring all that's happening in our country and the world.

This is a bad look for the navy and the man who made the complaint, nobody is suggesting otherwise but to then to try to somehow justify and diminish all your perspectives re the savage attack on the police  and the terror raids and the media coverage of that is just as bad imo.

Get a bit of perspective and stop with the tita for tat, the endless semantics and the useless what if scenarios, the I'm more right than you, all this is not helping and thank goodness the little pond of cs is not the wider communities reflection.

I think it's a good look, for the navy...... they have made a public announcement.

It's bad for the person who made the claim, no one else.

I guess it shows Az. that we can't just jump on everything the media reports, they seem to be sensationalizing everything without fully checking all the facts first.
