do you wonder why Australia even bothers to have joint stamp issues or why bother with it at all?

I never really thought about joint stamp issues.  I don't recall ever hearing about them or wondering if there was such a thing.  :^O  Hence the surprise.

Me neither, but I  could understand if there was let's say Australian/French or Australian/PNG issue commemorating some part of a war that we had in common.  But in this case the descendants of  the Palestinian people who were there when the battle  was fought, were evicted and the present population has nothing to do with the events of 1917.
