Urgent advice needed re weeing cat !!!!!!!!!!!

This morning about 10.30 am my cat did a huge wee on my bed.

I stripped the bed and washed everything and the cat was looking really upset so I just played with him and he finally settled.

This evening about 7 pm I made the bed with all fresh linen (because I haven't been able to dry any of the other stuff due to continual heavy rain).

About 9.30 pm I was in the lounge room and the cat was meowing and I thought he was on the windowsill in the bedroom because that window was open but he kept up the meowing so I went in to see what was wrong and my bed was drenched again.

I have stripped the bed again but this time the mattress is soaked so I have moved the litter box into the kitchen and closed off everything to the cat except the kitchen and lounge room.

I re-homed this cat at the beginning of December and apart from problems with him spending the first 2 weeks under the lounge and only coming out after I went to be to eat and use his litter box.

There have been no wee problems at all until today.

I don't know what is wrong and what to do about it.

BTW I have been looking at buying a new bed ensemble but don't want to get one if the cat is going to wee all over it. I nearly bought one last week but due to an unexpected visit to vet for the dog and a huge vet bill I didn't get the new bed.

I am wondering if the bed is always going to have a smell that will attract the cat to wee on it and if so what can I do?

The cat does sleep on the bed with me but will jump up to the window sill if he hears anything outside during the night.

Urgent advice needed re weeing cat !!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was the first time anything had happened re peeing on the bed or anywhere else.

When I first got him he would only use the litter box after I went to bed or if I was out for the day but he seems to have got over that.

He has always let em know if there was poo that needed immediate removal and once it was removed he would settle down again.

When I am going to be away for a lot of hours I put down a second litter tray well away from the bathroom littler tray just in case he does a poo and won't use that litter box again until cleaned.

He has been his usual lazy self today except that he has not done anything, no 1s or 2s, nothing. He hasn't eaten anything today.

That is usually stress related for him and he usually settles down after lots of attention and games.

There has been a family of ducks coming from across the road for 3 days now and one of the ducks walks up to the front door which was open but screen door locked and the same with the front patio door being wide open but screen door locked.

He does seem fascinated by the ducks but doesn't want to go out at all but instead stands in a chair (he always jumps onto something that will make him higher than the ducks) watching them and they stay for about 1/2 an hour.

After reading all the replies I will try the odaban, the calming spray and a visit to the vet if he doesn't settle but I am thinking the ducks might be upsetting him.

it's a stinky smelly industrial strength cleaner.

It does get rid of the cat pee smell, but the smell it leaves behind reminds me of toilets

Miss Mioux put me onto it when my cat was piddling on my doonas.

you can buy it online and they send it out pretty quick.

Pimpy you found it "stinky"?? 😮

Did you dilute it well before using? I love the smell. It's kind of spicy. I actually clean my toilet with it :^O

Bump I'm a little concerned your kitty isn't eating or drinking. If it's not an UTI then I'd say the ducks are making him feel threatened. Could you close the curtains and doors so kitty can't see the ducks?

I couldn't get the spicy one. and ummm well I had to mix it pretty strong for the doonas.

They smell fine though, it's the laundry cupboard where I keep the bottle that is a bit overpowering when you open it.

It does remind me of dunnies though . I suspect it was used as a toilet cleaner somewhere I've worked, probably one of the nursing homes.

It must have been strong Pimpy. I double the dilution recommendations.

I fill up a spray bottle almost up to the top with water and add the Odaban.

It may have been used for the nursing home. Apparently it's good for all bodily fluids. Ewwww!
