After all the things we hear about how bad they are I am impressed with how well my experience has turned out and easy they have made it.
Had a woman that wasn't paying attention drive through a give way sign on Australia day and T bone me.
Lucky she had full comprehensive insurance,
as Monday was a holiday I left contacting her for the claim number till Thursday,
I then rang her insurance and was pleased even surprised when they said they accepted full liability for the accident and to go get a quote.
Friday I got a quote that was submitted electronically
Tuesday I get a ph call to say assessor wants to look at car. Arrange for Wednesday.
Today I get the ph call, I am 20 minutes away is it ok to come around
He arrives looks over car and says all OK car will be repaired, no arguments no hassles.
So 10/10 Bupa / CGU
I have my wifes and my cars property damage cover with them and will certainly be renewing with CGU.

Wow Hawk what did your car look like?

The front wheel took a lot of the impact, it has bent the stub axle and both the upper and lower control arms.
we are all very lucky as the speed limit is 80kmh on both roads, it could have ended up really bad if we both had not taken of a lot of speed.
There has been a number of serious accidents on that intersection over the years including a number of fatalities.

😮 ... glad everyone came out of that unscathed and in one piece Hawk xx
Good for the insurance company too, makes all the difference and helps to get over the shock.

You are very lucky that you weren't going a tiny bit faster and you got the full impact on your door.
A Young woman was killed on a black spot intersection very close to me just a couple of nights ago. Her car was also T boned when she turned off in front of an approaching car.

that's no good about the accident hawk but it looks from your photos that she came off a lot worse.
Nice to hear about an insurance coming doing the right thing and getting it all happening so quickly. Some people have to wait months, I can't help remembering all the trouble mugssy went through when her bungalow caught fire
