Vexed Vax Jabs Charted over Time in Database: Don't be k1oooless!

I was going to title this topic COVID vaccination rates and opening up at 80% (by the numbers) . . . but went with the one suggested by countess on another thread.

Please note that I am not starting this thread for the discussion of COVID vaccination, making vaccination mandatory or the pros/cons of vaccination.

This thread is also not for posting about 'early stage treatments' for COVID.  I may well report any such posts for being off-topic if they are made.

I won't be posting arguments for or against vaccination, just the numbers and percentages that will drive the easing of restrictions.

The intention of this thread is to provide an analysis of the figures that I haven't been able to find elsewhere.  It is for me to post screengrabs of an Excel spreadsheet that shows the double dose percentages that will become crucial in opening up the country.

I will prepare a spoiler so that members can see how the spreadsheet numbers are calculated.   The spoiler will also note the source I use for spreadsheet preparation.

If anyone notices any errors in my calculations or screengrabs then please let me know.

Re: Vexed Vax Jabs Charted over Time in Database: Don't be k1oooless!

The table at the bottom has the data for each state/territory.

I began months ago with reporting only Victoria's data for a few reasons:

  • I live in Victoria, so I was checking this data for personal reasons anyway;
  • Victorians (especially Melbournians) had already been through severe lockdowns, and it would be helpful for them to see the data informing public health mandates and decisions;
  • Victoria's numbers have been stubborn and persistent;
  • I am dismayed by the stagnant numbers in vaccination in VIC, particularly for 5-11 year olds, and 12-15 year olds; the slow and reluctant take-up of third vaccinations in Victoria in particular is also a concern. I keep records of this information anyway... If you would like the additional vacc. data (total 2nd dose for 5-11 year olds, and total 1st & 2nd dose for 12-15 year olds) for the other states/territories as well, I can add that. Just post or message me; I won't begrudge adding that, but I will only do this if it's requested because it's a bit more work!
  • the Victorian numbers were initially of greatest concern, followed thereafter by the NSW numbers;
  • as the other states' COVID data became of more concern, I began adding that data as well.

I still keep the VIC-specific table at the top for easy viewing as I'm of the view that Victorians are the ones most concerned about the numbers; we're still the state that has gone through the worst hell of the pandemic. For the other states... well, almost all of the VIC data is duplicated in the State & Territory table, so for those interested, all of the COVID-19 information is there and most of the COVID-19 vaccination information is there.

Re: Vexed Vax Jabs Charted over Time in Database: Don't be k1oooless!

Oh!  - and the death data... well, each state reports this data differently.

NSW isn't giving me any details at all. QLD isn't giving me any details at all. WA, SA, TAS, NT and ACT do give the data, but they don't have the high and persistent number of deaths that Victoria, NSW and (to a lesser extent) QLD do, so it wouldn't make sense to report the cumulative number of deaths, and the daily deaths broken down into age. Only Victoria*, out of those three states, is providing that data, so I am continuing to report that information.

* Victoria's cumulative reporting of deaths broken down by age is only available for that day; it is continuously updated, so that my records are the only persistent and easily obtainable source for the daily information.

(Sorry; I ran out of time to edit the above message.)
