I will ask you the same question.
Do you think historians' view correctly reflect that was happening in any place or time without being there an witnessing it first hand?

i will also answer with a question.
do you think all 'historians' witnessing
9/11 would agree about the cause?

That would depend on their awareness and their ability to surpass preconceived ideas and their gullibility 🙂
But i would imagine that they would all agree that the twin towers did collapse.

dont you think its interesting how people
witnessing the same thing disagree on what
they saw? what caused the collapse?
which of course has huge implications.

Julia, there are magicians everywhere waving their particular magic wands, and against all odds they make some things disappear and other things appear to be what they are not, defying logic, science and common sense. White can become black or any hue of the rainbow with only the wave of a wand.
In general people believe what they are comfortable with because the alternative is too abhorrent to them even if is a truth absolute

Even if the majority of Crimeans did favor rejoining Russia, you don't go about reunification by invading and occupying part of a sovereign nation's territory, lying through your teeth about having done so, holding a referendum at the point of a gun, then realistically expect the international community to recognize it as legitimate. Unless of course you're KGB Vladimir, the great shirtless megolomaniac.
The thing is that Crimea was never part of Ukraine until 1950s when it was put under Ukrainian jurisdiction, because that was the logical thing to do, as both territories were part of the USSR, and the only land connection Crimea has is to Ukraine. It made it easier to administer and provide services. But, about 90% of people living in Crimea are Russians, the remaining 10% includes number of minorities including Ukrainians. Nobody held gun to the vast majority of Russians' heads for the referendum. However, the Russians always had some advantage over the other nationalities of the USSR. When Ukraine and other states became independent they turned it around, and I would not like to be Russian living there, they are mostly having hard time, and would dearly love to be living in Russia.
