Video to digital? Ideas please?

I have a tiny piece (only a few seconds) on video that I really want, for sentimental reasons, to convert to digital format to conserve it.
Does anyone have any, cost effective, ideas if how I can do it/get it done? I don't have a DVD recorder.

Re: Video to digital? Ideas please?

Never used the software that comes with it before, seriously, if you have something other than Media Player, use it.

For a few seconds of footage though. Two minds. Some of the professionals out there are not really professionals, they'll give you rubbish, yes you'll get your footage, sometimes decent quality, but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired.

So your choices are, trust a company that'll charge you about $50 and possibly give you a crappy result. Buy the converter thingy for $100 and fiddle with the software. Buy the DVD/VHS combo, get yourself some software and get the quality you want.

Or send it to me, Express post with a return Express post, and I'll do it for nothing.
