I would never belittle Australia's efforts in New Guinea........chiefly because my father was there with the Australians.........he was wounded and recuperated in Melbourne, where he met my mother. However, and this is a big however......the diggers used American aircraft, American tanks, and American logistics. Had it not been for the strategic victory at the Battle of the Coral Sea, and the booting of the Sons of Nippon from Guadacanal, things would have been a lot more dicey.

The victory of the Battle of Britain, by Spits and Hurris would have been a lot more difficult, if not impossible, had the convoys from the US not provided food, ammunition, and aviation gasoline. Remember, England is an island, and had a dearth of oil producing wells.

I've never encountered one American who complained about Australia and its culture (except for the taste of vegemite)......on the other hand, Australians have whole-heartedly embraced Macca's, Reeboks, and Self-Storage.
Not at being a nation and if China wasn't supporting your almost twenty trillion in debt there would probably be no U.S.A
