"eBay is revamping its community area including the discussion boards. The change comes as eBay transitions away from using LiveWorld to moderate its boards. As we report in Monday's news story, eBay was not ready to provide more details when we broke the story last month. Who will moderate the boards - will it be brought in-house, or will eBay outsource it to another company? We'll have to wait to find out.

But we do know eBay is revamping the boards. Certain features will remain the same, but the design will change."

One change that is puzzling is how eBay will designate an employee's post. In the past, moderators' posts were always shown with a pink box - with the new design, posts from eBay employees will be identified by a blue box surrounding the post. Users had always referred to eBay forum moderators as "pinks" - so changing the color seems an odd decision.

Users have already expressed concern over what the change in moderation will mean for the user experience, so hearing that eBay will revamp the community area will likely cause more concern. On a positive note, eBay will move all previous posts to the updated forums.

Sounds great but depending on age and medical issues it may not be the perfect place to retire.

One poster-One ID.---simple isnt it.-would stop a lot of dramas on the threads.

You get one drivers license--if you loose it-you cant get a spare one out

That way, with no 0 ID;s you wouldn't have the crazies trying to guess who  is behind the ID, and accusing innocent posters of being them.

I would like to see the BLOCK function added. Not only can you not see when they post, they can't see you either. No big "You are ignoring this user" to tempt you to unblock them...they just don't exist to you and you to them.

A POLITICS board and the local mod could move all the political threads over to it.

One ID linked to to some kind of verifiable ID so that someone cannot hide behind 5000+ hotmail accounts. You wouldn't be able to link it to ISP as there may be several members of the same household. I don't know how they would do it though as you would probably need a licence number or something like that and that would create privacy issues for some people.

I am sure I can think of others but my head is spinning from new pain meds.

Not spinning in that way. They make me feel dizzy, not stoned. I have an ear infection and cold. I am using my Tens Machine and will go to bed when it is finished.

When I lay down it feels like the bed is spinning. Kind of like when I was younger and came home from a night out drinking...you go to bed and the room is doing loops. I am sure we called it the "bedspins" ???

 there should be a rule for people  who make wild accusations about other posters

 being someone else especially when  they can't back it up and have no proof.

cos all it does it make them look  like bigger tools than they already are

I was once accused of being JMK when I first starting posting again, or did they accuse her of being me?..can't remember...lol

I looked in every corner of my account but she was nowhere to be found.....:^O
