Political threads have their place in social media but I do not think 'Community Spirit' is the place.
The vitriol and nastiness some of these threads engender, leading to claims of interpersonal posts, removal of posts and frequent locking of threads all damage any Community Spirit which previously existed.
Freedom of speech is to be applauded but the current rash of political threads is 'infecting' the spirit of the Community Spirit board.
Does anyone agree with me?
Would anyone else be prepared to communicate with the moderators requesting consideration of this suggestion?
I have.

I will try to rephrase my question. You seem quite understanding of this Governments rather extreme measures. Are you more confident with this Government than with the previous one ?
and in your post here you mentioned boredom in relation to political threads however you used to post on political threads quite a bit yourself didn't you? Are you not interested as much now ? and if so may I ask why the change ?
Why does it matter?
Sometimes people feel like talking politics and sometimes they don't. It's no drama either way.

I think this thread has gone way off track. Perhaps the mods need to keep an eye on spam political threads and leave the good ones alone.
For instance if someone starts six politics threads a day.

From reading Laney's opening post.I would think that if vitriol is being seen and tainting the wider community.Any messages to the mods may be best directed at the issue of moderation rather than removal of a topic which can come into many things (therefore give those who like to report just because they can the 'off topic' report option if THEY FEEL politics has been posted and shouldn't.Everyone is supposed to be an equal indivual here of equal value to Ebay and the Moderation even if not seen that way by some within this Community. The moderation is supposed to see us all that way and our input that way.It should not be that the case that the paid peace keepers are asked by this Community to move a whole lot of members because of 'some posts' and/or 'some posters'.
This thread has again shown why ebay related issues did not used to be On Topic for Community Spirit.
If posts are a problem,if posters are a problem (according to the guideines)...the whole Community is not to blame.
Why not write to the mods about the issues which need addressing rather than suggest that they 'MOVE' everyone
