WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I'm thinking that 4/5/6/7 is as good as it would normally get for Quordle.

Work out 3 words that will use 15 different letters (including all vowels). 

Once you have used 15 letters you have a fair chance of solving one quarter, then another on each additional guess i.e. 4/5/6/7

You might get one quarter after the second word, but would then need to input your 3rd word to get more letters for the others.  Then you would have it in 3/5/6/7

I have put this to the test as I have access to 4 phones (2 connected, and 2 old ones using home internet) and 4/5/6/7 has been achievable.

Again, there’s a distinct sense here that the chosen word was selected because it’s less likely to be guessed by the strategies that served us in Classic Wordle.

woohoo…. Today’s word in three. 
My letter placement, on the first two lines TOLD me where these letter had to go, but in all honesty, I’ve not heard of this word before and I had to look up it’s meaning. 
I’m certain, others here will know and possibly use this word…. Not me. I’m just a country bumpkin 😉

I very, very vaguely recall hearing this word at some point through my life, but not certain. I don't even know how I got that word in 3 goes, given my atrocious record lately. Pure fluke. I also had to google to see what it meant. It's not something I would use in a sentence.

It's a word I am familiar with and I have heard it used a lot, not so much in everyday conversation though.

All the same, it took me 6 tries to arrive at it. The trouble was I didn't have much to work with till my 4th try.

As the time is nearly up for today, what was your first word? Mine was "great". With one letter being in the right place, and another that was to be in a different place. I still don't know how I picked up that word!
