WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

As you can see, after 2 turns I had some yellow letters. Things weren't clear though in that I could think of many possible solutions (just about everything except the actual answer, as it turned out).

Anyway, I decided to use another eliminator to  cut down on the possible solutions. It wiped almost everything off the table so in my opinion, it was a successful eliminator.

Bot doesn't fully agree, he feels it was okay but of course his selection was better. It was in one sense  but my choice ended up (by luck, I guess) eliminating more possibilities.

I played this game as well as yesterday, if not better really. The reason the score is not as good is because at turn 3, I tried a word that was close & possible, but incorrect. I got it on turn 4. After that, they went down like dominoes although in a couple of spots I had to choose as there were other possibilities.

But at least i didn't try an impossible word, the way I did yesterday.

I was lucky to even guess it in 4.

Octordle. I took this carefully today but even so, at turn 8 I had to use an eliminator and even at the end, I only had 2 letters (vowels) for word 4. I thought of the answer only because it has been out before a couple of times. Not an unusual word at all, just one that I had not thought of till I had very few other letters left to work with.

Countess, hats off to you. How you manage to score 52 so often I do not know. Even being careful, the best I could do was 55 today.

For this, you really need to have a particular letter played reasonably early. You will also need to think of a word that’s a homophone, with two different spellings and meanings.

I didn’t manage 52 today, darn it…

CRATE was my starter - an easy 4L as it was a 50/50 choice. I had to use an eliminator, and yet another at row 9.

I'm still half asleep and what an idiot I was at the start of wordle.

Instead of typing in my usual word, I looked up and found I had typed in something else entirely, but too late, I had pressed to submit. I was kicking myself as it was a word with a repeat vowel.

So then I had to think of shomething different for row 2, to cover some of what I had left out.

Luckily, it worked out. I would say the results today would have been much the same whichever way i played it, although my usual first word would have been  a tad better.

I was a bit surprised at this score as I would have expected to get in the 60s. I had 2 careless mistakes.

Actually I was surprised too to find I still had several turns left, they seemed to stretch further today. I actually counted them to see if the usual 13 had been extended but nope, it is still 13.
