WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I started with STALE, and then played an eliminator which turned out to be 3R!

The whole thing went very nicely, although I did have a wrong word guess at 3L. However, after that guess I was reasonably sure what it must be.

Bot was quite pleased with me today. Not with my opening guess, of course. Nothing is ever as good as slate as an opener, in his eyes.

But my second guess is exactly what he would have tried in my circumstances. He sounded quite surprised.

I started off really well with octordle, if I do say so myself.

However, I met my waterloo on word 6.I tried BOUND, which was not 'it' but helped a lot with word 5, at least.

Then I was left thinking-wound/found/round?

So I tried an eliminator, frond. I was sort of expecting the F to be green but it was black. The R was yellow but somehow I overlooked that and my next try was-wound.😫

So my final moves weren't exactly covered in glory.

Lucky guess. Bot thought so too as he said there were 23 other words. I didn't know that, just went with the first thing that popped into my mind.

Than you, springyzone. Sometimes as I sit here by mum’s side, in between patting her hand and giving her a kiss and talking and singing to her, I’m particular when she has a bit of a snooze, I do want to distract myself.

Like you, I had a 2-row Wordle success. I started with SLATE.

Quite an unusual word for the RH side… It’s not an obscure word, but its usage is not as wide as other similar-meaning words.
