WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Today's was straight forward. The reason it is 60 is because my first 3 words were eliminators. After the first 2 words, I could not see my way clear to confidently guess at any of the answers so I just went with another eliminator. I find you need to start making correct guesses by turn 2 or 3. You can then use eliminators lower down and still score in the 50s but the system really doesn't like you clearing too many letters at the very start. 😂

I was happy with this. Bot would have taken 4 turns, apparently.

For my 3rd try, he said he would have used chill. I thought of that but went with the answer because, if nothing else, it could eliminate more letters. Plus I thought it just as likely an answer.

This was the ebst I could do.

I solved my first word at turn 2 but then used 2 more eliminators after that. It wasn't that I couldn't see any words to make, I could see too many possibilities, that was the trouble.

CATER and SOUND… then ALONG which gave me Top Left and Bottom Right. After solving bottom right, I had top right as well, and a very strong guess for bottom left.

I started with CLEAR, then played STONY. 2L was a 1 in 2 chance and my guess was the right one.

2R could only be one word by then. And after that, 3L fell into my hands.

I took a risk with 1L; I had three letters, knew that one of them must be either 2nd or 4th, another was either 4th or 5th… but the pool of letters for 5th position was small. I might have a repeat of the letter in 3rd position, or a double set of one of the yellows… I decided to chance my luck on a strong guess.

The rest was plain sailing from that point.
