WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

At 2R (my final word) I used the available letters on my 9th turn - and the answer was actually an anagram of what I’d tried. That was my only piece of bad luck.

Even with 2 greens,  there were still plenty of words that could be made.

OMG you and trees are really setting the bar for octordle! I haven't done it yet. My prayer is just to get under 70 & solve it, then I will be happy! 😂

I was happy with this. I did need to use another eliminator at turn 4 as I just didn't have enough to make confident guesses for the remaining words. Like you, the 4th one was my last solved. I also could make 2 different words with the same letters.

I had a bit of trouble getting the wordle site to open today. Thank goodness I copied the share tab straight after I did it as  the site has gone down again & I can't access it right now. I was lucky enough to know the first 3 letters after my second turn, but Bot still wasn't overly happy with my second word choice. Mind you, his picks today took him 5 turns to nail it, so there! 😁

I actually did this before I did wordle (as the latter site was timing out on me).

No hard words as such but it is giving off a slightly old world vibe today.

That 7th word, I had letters 1,3 5 in place and only a few letters left unused so it should have been easy but I had to go through a few impossible combos before it hit me!

PS I am always happy to get a score under 60. How any of you ladies manage under 50 is beyond me, but I live in fervent hope that one far off day, the makers will use alien/shout as 2 of their words and I'll be in with a chance then.😂

I started with LOUGH today. My 2nd row eliminator was what delicate tightly-corseted ladies or perhaps gentlemen with an aversion to needles do.
