WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

My starter was TRACE again, and I used ROUGH as an eliminator.

The bot can blather on about “not as efficient”, but he took 4 turns against my three, so let him teach his grandmother how to suck eggs!

TRACE as the starter wasn’t much help. I used DOING as my 2nd row eliminator, and then could guess bottom right (4R) without much trouble. But then I found myself adrift in a sea of speculation. Too many choices!

I looked at 3L… I had three letters, and a reasonable guess might have lifted the darkness or shown strength, but without any clue in regards to that, I went for a more unlikely word instead. (Mind you, it was a word that’s been used several times in these Wordle-type games, so I had precedent.)

As a result, I could guess 1R, and as a result of that, I could guess 2L. 1L followed as a result of 2L. And so on.

Knowing where my second yellow was, made me suspect where my first yellow would probably go.. if that makes sense. But I did have a different answer in mind as well, so I was lucky in my choice today.

The wedding was beautiful, set in a winery with lush green grass and a backdrop of sun-dappled rolling hills stippled with trees. Gorgeous gorgeous bride, and her young man is perfect for her.

The only problem was my own - wretched knee so very painful that I could bear no weight on it and I hobbled slowly with agonising darts of pain shooting up the leg and into the hips because I’ve the weird gait I was forced to use. No dancing. 🚫💃😭😢💊😰 But I did get my sister to dance with mum.

My second word earned me a frown of disapproval from the bot. I have worked out why; it ends with an “s” (plural) and we’ve already established it doesn’t consider such words valid. (???) Yet that word was very helpful and gave me two possibilities only. Pooh pooh to the bot!

I needed an eliminator on row 3, and used BOUND. It wasn’t a bad eliminator but it left a great many words bereft of a quick solution. Quite a bit of guessing involved…

I've been away for a couple of days and the phone issue is getting urgent I think. Definitely full, not taking messages, closing down etc. Time to stop procrastinating.

Today I had this urge to try a slightly different starter. It would have used almost the same letters but I thought the end letter might have more chance of being 'it'. However, I went with the usual as I like to cover all vowels after 2 turns.
