WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

CRATE and SPOIL were my starter and first eliminator. The RH word wasn’t tricky, but the one on the left? Oh, far too many possibilities to make a guess and hope I was right. 

I had to use an eliminator at row 4, and it excluded the most likely possibilities for the 4th letter. Aha. I had you in my sights, you sneaky solution…

I used FLARE as my starter - not a wonderful way to begin. The eliminator - TOUGH - at least resulted in 4 letters for 3 of the words, including the first letter of two words.

There were quite a few possibilities still there, but I tried a word with US spelling in a sort of reverse psychology. That gave me enough to solve the rest.

Bot hasn't changed. He thought my second word (shout) was solid but of course, not as good as his choices.

I made a couple of wrong guesses here. Was convinced the first word would be strap, all the letter positions seemed to point to it, but of course it wasn't.

Not a great score today. All the same, I feel as if several of these words are on repeat.

I started with CRANE, used LOUSY as my eliminator, and there we are. My answer wasn’t the only possibility but it was a strong contender - and it was right.

It was still a lot better than mine and my head was fine. 😂

I could have kicked myself after today's octordle as I made a stupid, rushed guess on the first word, right at the end. Could have saved a turn. Mind you, the result would still have been in the 60s as I had a slow start today. My first 2 turns just weren't cutting it. Even with hindsight now and re examining it, I don't think I could have guessed any word with 100% confidence.

And this one I should have got in 3 turns as the correct answer is the first word that popped into my head after my first 2 turns. It was a case of over thinking it, as I looked for other possibilities and when I saw one, I thought it might be more the sort of word Bot would like.

My starter - TRACE - gave me an easy guess for top right. But I used an eliminator after that - SKIMP - and I was able to go on guessing throughout.
