WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I am pretty satisfied with this. I did the best I could.

I did make a mistake on turn 5.
For word #2, I  had the letters A E C M.
All in yellow.
So I tried CREAM and double checked, no clashes.

But every letter yellow again.
It was not till after FEMUR that I had the E in place and could think of a guess. I am sure we have seen this word used some time recently, although I am starting to think that about a lot of the words.

That word has popped up quite often - but not very recently. I knew the 4th letter couldn’t be A, which made me consider other positioning…

And yes, after a while all of these words end up hurdy-gurdying in one’s mind!

I am struggling a bit today as my right index finger is out of action which is a pain when it comes to using a mouse.

I had trouble with the wordle today but the octordle was easy enough.

Rather than use an eliminator for my second turn on wordle, I just went for a guess in the hope of finishing quickly so i didn't have to type too long, but no such luck. probably would have been better to just go with shout.

Then had to sit back and re-evaluate. I had thought of filet/gilet but  I thought they were unlikely.
I still think pixel would have been a great answer.

After 2 turns, I had 4 letters, with a green S. Yellow AET
You'd think easy, but I was faced with a few choices such as stare, stage, stake, stead and others.
So I used an eliminator at turn 3 (Greek).
Up came a yellow K plus a yellow E in 3rd spot. So that wiped out several choices.
So.. I went with stake  and it was skate. 
Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

I didn't shine at octordle today either but then again, all my efforts were logical enough.

My mistakes were on #4, where I tried mirth and later fifth, before getting width.

I used an eliminator towards the end and it solved #5 & #7 for me.

#7 was a pain as at the start, I could see it was probably hatch, catch, watch etc etc etc but had to wait till the end till I could nail it down.
