WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-26/why-wordle-has-become-a-new-online-obsession/100782794

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

How are you doing, Countess? I know you have been in a bit of pain lately, hope things are looking up for you and your mother.

I could possibly have completed this in 3 today, but it would have been a risk.

The answer is a word that has come up before in Octordle, I think.

As soon as I had completed my second word, I suspected  a _oach pattern.

My 3rd word was pricy.

The 2 octordles I have done today are anything but fresh, I am afraid.

It felt a bit like wordle, a recycling event.

I was happy enough with the score.
For turn 3, I was looking at #5 and thinking, raven/ramen. I went with ramen as that seems to be a reasonably popular one of theirs. #7 is a word I have learnt from octordle over the years, as they have used it a few times.

Another load of recycled words.

I was lucky though as I was able to take a stab at #7 on turn 2. Couldn't see what else it could be. But maybe I just got lucky.

#6 makes an appearance regularly and I think a couple of other words have been out in fairly recent times?

The best I could do was 52. I hadn’t a hope at guessing.

springyzone, with what I presume was your starter, you had a better chance but it still took intelligence and experience! Let me at that helpful vote to give you that well-deserved thumb’s-up.

Re: WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

Thanks for your kind words!

I did start with my usual 'alien' but then I took a guess at #7 and again for #4 (hoping it wasn't canny).

But I then needed another eliminator and used 'hours' instead of shout as I really wanted to cover shou but not the T, which had already been out.

I went with pricy for my second turn, as I felt P & C had more chance of being in the answer than S.
But then for 3rd turn, I felt it was between close and clove. Ah well, can't win them all! 😂

Mistake about half way.  On #7, I typed in happy, although I was debating harpy. Thought happy might be more likely but just as I pressed enter, I thought, hang on, we've already had double letters with nutty and bossy so maybe not this time. Too late to change.

Used an eliminator (medic) towards the end to help sort out the last ones.

Lower down made a mistake on #7 (dolly instead of oddly). I have a feeling I have made that exact error in recent times. Note to self: oddly is the popular word of the moment.

Don't recall seeing tiara before, so it is good to have something new.
