WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Took a couple of risks on this one. The first one paid off (which was lucky for me, score wise), the second one didn't.

#4, swoon or spoon, went for swoon as it was my first thought & got lucky.
#5 jelly or belly, went with jelly because it usually is. This time it wasn't.

Hope things settled down to a bit cooler for you. I didn't feel hot last night but we did have the cooler on.
I'm off though this afternoon to my son's place to help out as his wife has had to fly off to Vancouver for work & he also has work, so I will be looking after 2 grandsons and not home till wednesday night (when the other grandma takes over). So not sure if I can post on the boards till then.

Here’s hoping your grandma duties are enjoyable and not too onerous!

Things went fine except for shoes.

Shoes cause more dramas than everything else combined (except maybe food)

The 2 year old would not have a bar of any of his sneakers that fit. Wants his old (too small) ones back. Kicks feet around but will eventually consent to the spiderman ones but the bright green ones that light up, no way.

And the 5 year old has new leather school shoes with velcro straps and is forever tearing them off and saying they are not tight enough. They have an insert. I was thinking maybe he needed a second insert but his other grandma is on duty now and she said he complained he felt they were coming off, so maybe the insert he has is too high and she has bought another pair to try.

You wouldn't think shoes could cause such dramas but we actually almost ran late because of it.

But here I am, home at last.

Wasn't feeling any inspiration at all, to be quite truthful, so went with a 3rd eliminator (fudge, rather than fudgy, if only to test if e was on the end, which i thought it may be).
