WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Ah, yes, some of yesterday's words were recycled.

You had me worried there for a second as I came on expecting to be first (maybe) and thought you had done today's.

Today's I found particularly difficult if I am to be honest. It took me ages and I wondered what on earth I had struck with a couple of words. What got me through is some of the other words, at least, were repeats & so fairly predictable.🤣

I went wrong on turn 3. I thought it was worth a gamble on #4 being chair but it was khaki (which is a bit of a fav of theirs, now I think about it). It took me a little while to figure out #2 & 3, given what I had eliminated, but the other answers are familiar friends.

Yes, today’s Octordle is awful. I did manage a good score but it’s not reflective of just how monstrous it is.

After my first 2 turns, I couldn't see any section that had a clear cut answer. Some had several possibilities so I went

for fudgy as 3rd turn and paid the price, score wise. It helped on some, not at all on others, but at least eliminating some letters is useful.
Nothing new in the words but #6 has been out a couple of times lately, if I recall.

I did use fudgy as an eliminator lower down. Once I got the Y  #2 & 4 were clearer. I was kicking myself I had not guessed #2 without needing that eliminator.

It could have been scrub, but I’ve seen Wordle having a decided preference for scrum.

I haven’t posted my Wordle, etc., for a few days, as I’ve been driven crazy by navigating to this page, completing Wordle or Octordle, copying the result, coming back here ready to paste into reply, and … finding I’m logged out again. I log in, paste, go to Notes app to copy the empty “spoiler” (because the boards don’t have the spoiler button when accessing from a phone), and come back to the thread to paste it… logged out again.

And then something will probably interrupt me … and I’ll more than likely not remember that I haven’t actually posted the result. Grrr.
