WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Needed (or felt that way at least) another eliminator at turn 4 then made a mistake near the end with motor, but would have made a mistake anyway one way or another as I had murky slated for #8 so motor saved me from that.
But really, could they have mad more double letter words if they tried?

Oh dear… But the mo___ trap was one that I only just avoided; it was completely logical, so that’s an honourable wound.

I think you could possibly have had your #2 after solving your #7. That would have given you #1, and then given you a good chance at #3. But that’s how it goes… Solving Octordle smoothly is always going to rely on the starter and eliminator, and a good starter may sometimes bomb.

Got off to a good start, wasn't much else #5 could be, but that was about as far as I could get for certain without using an eliminator, or so i felt.
Then some mistakes.
Gammy and bevel. On reflection, I should have known gamma was more likely but just didn't think of it till after trying gammy.
Revel was an honourable enough mistake as it could have been repel/revel or rebel.

I didn't feel very inspired after my first turn.
Even by turn 3, I took a guess but honestly, how often can squab come out, I thought it was time for them to ring the changes.
I was nearly going to try grout for #6, just lucky I solved #7 first.
puffy was an eliminator as I wanted to test P/F. Plus other letters but couldn't think of a word with them all.
I was surprised to get P in first spot for #3 as I had had that word tentatively down as copse.

All in all, several words ended up being nothing like what I had thought they may be after my first turn or two.

Possibly, but it would have been a big  risk. At that stage, it could have been steep, steer, steed, strep, strew and I have a very bad track record for choosing the wrong ones.

The poor score is because on turn 3, I used another eliminator because there was no answer I could see that was a fairly clear cut certainty.
Crump really helped, I'd been sort of leaning towards crust for #8, or maybe trust, but crump cleared the way.
I fell on the last word and used alloy instead of allow.
