WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Sorry, I was out yesterday till late and didn't octordle or come online. 

I did do wordle on phone and think it took me 5, from memory, but can't recall what i tried.

Today's was fracionally better.

I was nervous trying for #2 as the first word to pop in my head was aspen but I figured extreme maybe but classic was more likely to use ashen. #7 felt risky too but I was lucky with that too. After those it was fair;y clear.

I felt as if I got off to a good start with this but I ran out of puff about three quarter way through.
In actual fact, I fancied #4 carry earlier on but I was worried there might be other possible words I was missing.
So I went with fudge & it definitely helped as I had been thinking possibly glide or clime early on for #3.

This was decidedly tricky for me. I had very little on which to go after my starter. The eliminator helped to get things started, but it did feel a bit as though I was tiptoeing on eggshells to avoid guesses that were wrong wrong wrong.

From that wretched “boney” onwards, it fell apart. 1R was _OR_E, so it must be _ORGE… and with “f” not yet played, it must be either forge or gorge. I guessed incorrectly.

I could have tried solving 2L before attempting 1R. But there the dilemma was _LI_E, which meant glide or elide. I’d probably have tried “glide”, and there we’d be – another strike.

Too risky for guessing so I used fudgy. If that had not worked, I may have needed another eliminator, maybe crook.
