WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-26/why-wordle-has-become-a-new-online-obsession/100782794

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I know how bad this looks, but I feel they played a bit unfair with one of the words.

I made a mistake very early on (always fatal, score wise), as I played tango for #4. But really, Tonga? I could be mistaken but I have only ever seen that used as a proper noun & wasn't expecting that to be in the game.

Then at the end, I knew #6 was between plaid and flail (having ruled out flair) so I had a 50/50 chance with that and was just in the wrong 50.😁

Spoiler

You were unlucky with “tonga”; I had “lingo” to stop me from the dance.

Tonga - well, it’s one of those light canopy-covered carriage things with a single horse, seen in Indian streets; it’s also another spelling of the tonka bean (vanilla alternative - they’re a bit cinnamony and almondy as well) from South America … I’ve used them in a Brazilian dessert if I recall correctly.

I actually did stray from the beaten path a little.
alien/scout
I debated scout or spout on the basis I thought I might need to go for another eliminator on my 3rd turn and if I used fudgy, at least a P or C would partially cover pricy.
I was immediately kicking myself straight after it though as I was left wondering-short or sport.
I only went with sport because I'd thought about using P earlier and I am stubborn.

I was quite pleased with my start. I guessed #3, only because I could not think of anything else.
Then I used spout as eliminator.
Again I was immediately annoyed because I looked at #1 and thought-don't tell me this is shine and I should have gone shout. But at least I had eliminated spine I guess. I was on the point of entering it when I thought, wait a sec, could be swine, will leave it for now.
Towards the end, I used another eliminator (wormy) as I felt stuck between
#1 shine/swine
#4 moral/royal/loyal

I didn't even notice I had #2 to solve till the end and was left thinking, tardy or tarry, and should have used wordy as eliminator.
But got there in the end.
