I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Solving this on row 3 was down to luck, because there were three possibilities. I was tempted to use another eliminator… but in the end I talked myself in trying one of the 3.

I avoided 2L until the end, because of the frown/brown/drown dilemma.

ultra is certainly having a run, isn't it. Very keen on that word, they are.
I held off on #5. thinking axing or aging but it surprised me with aping.
Yes, ultra is one of the stand-by favourites.
You had the same aging/axing/aping scenario as I.

SpoilerSo annoyed with myself. Fell into the trap on #5 and typed in shall, thinking what else could it be, when suddenly I saw the W on my keboard but too late, couldn't recall it as I had pressed the enter.
I was immediately in a bad mood and refused to solve it on the spot. If it does that to me, it can wait!!🤣
#1 gave me trouble till I realised I had all 5 letters already so I was just going to have to work on it. But at first i was trying out the i in 4th spot and it wasn't working out for me.
Your shawl pothole made me grin; I know that feeling of stubbornly not wanting to pander to the evil letter that deliberately let you press enter a split second before you spotted the presence of the misbegotten letter trying to hide. 🤣 “That’ll teach it!” one thinks, ignoring the word and mentally shaking a fist at it.
