WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-26/why-wordle-has-become-a-new-online-obsession/100782794

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

A very lacklustre day I am afraid.

Even after 2 turns, there was nothing that I felt was a certainty. I could think of a couple of things at least for all of them. I was pretty sure though that #3 would turn out to be spite. I thought #4 could be hutch and #1, I thought not again, this one could be about a dozen things.
Anyway, it was with a sense of fatality that I went for pricy as next word and eventually got through the rest.

Unsatisfactory, a storm-tossed piece of flotsam from a wreck in a logic tempest … I did not feel happy about this.

This was horrible. The only reason that I solved this was the inclusion of P and K in the eliminator. (N as well, but not as pivotal.) If I’d used BLINK instead of pinks, I’d have a choice between drank, frank and prank. If I’d used dings, I’d be contemplating prawn and brawn as well as frank and prank.

None of these offer a logical outcome at row 3. It’s all just good luck or the lack of it.

I feel cheated by sheer chance giving this away to me.

Even worse. This game wasn't straight forward for me.

As you can see, I wasn't sure of anything again after turn 2. I sort of fancied worth for #6 and point for #7, which shows you how much my fancies can be relied upon.
Even right near the end, I was still wondering if #1 was crave, craze, creak or #6 was worth of forth. So I used another eliminator. Not the best but I felt as if all the most unlikely letters were coming into play.
It could have been worse, I was extremely lucky to at least get K for #1.

It’s amazing how different the outcome can be, depending upon the starter and eliminator. You got through it in the end.

I had an immediate gut feeling about the word. It didn’t blind me to other possibilities, but it was enough to make me focus on eliminating letters that would fit the pattern I had in mind.

🟨🟨 PLUMB <- eliminator

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 MUNCH 🎯

I suspected that the C in 4th position would be followed by H. There was no logical reason to suppose it was ___CH rather than ___CK but there we are. I thought CY as the ending was unlikely on the circumstances.

It would therefore be _ULCH or _UNCH, _ILCH or _INCH, or _ONCH - or outliers like POOCH or MOOCH or POUCH or COUCH … if my gut feeling was correct.

The consonants I most wanted to rule in or out were P, L, B, F, M, N. I wanted to focus on U or O mostly in the verb department. So… I went with PLUMB.

It turned out to be perfect; it narrowed things down to just one word.
