WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Mixed results. Some satisfying attempts at cunning but a big dose of stupidity thrown in to bring me back to reality.😂

After turn 1, I suspected _a_er pattern.
So something like later, laser, latex perhaps if we want to get creative.
Or baler, paler.
Baler came to me before paler, simply because it has been out in octordle a few times.
I used the eliminator split. I had been going to use spilt but at the last second, realised split would be more useful.
Very satisfying. The pride.

Sometimes I write down possibilities if there seem to be a lot. Not always. But today I did for 2 or 3 spots.
I was quite pleased with myself at turn 6 as I had eliminated spire & swipe from my list for #8 and suspected spike must be 'it' and so it proved.
But my early list for #4 was drank, frank, prank. I crossed prank off my list but didn't properly note the K had also been out. I used fudgy as eliminator and later on assumed #4 had to be drank.

I suspected the pattern of this word (and had a gut feeling)… but spent most of my time thinking of an eliminator to narrow down possibilities. Then I thought, darn it! Let’s just go for it.

I did this a while ago when I first woke up and the only excuse I have is I was still tired. I did wonder what was wrong with my brain, anyway.

Just look at that. Fancy trying imbue on my 3rd move. No N. I don't know what got into my brain, not much, obviously. It seemed a good idea at the time. I guess it did help out with #1 though.
Omega is their word of the week. Saw it just recently.
