I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education ๐คฃ

My red letter day.๐
I lucked out on this one, as I am sure you would have noticed when you did it.
I found this game quick and very straightforward, with answers fairly obvious. Except for the very last turn, where I thought-you have to be kidding me.
The only times I hesitated were for #4 where I considered (and rejected) doozy.
But then at the end-glove, globe, elope.
I actually fancied elope but decided I needed to go for a G word so i could at least get there in 2 turns if it turned out to be wrong. I chose glove and was lucky.

And even the extreme was better than normal for me.

Wordle 1,561 3/6

The starter was good enough to limit possible solutions to 16, with just enough difference and similarity to let me do my calculations.

๐ฉโฌ๐ฉโฌโฌ FLING <- eliminator
๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ FRITZ ๐ฏ
Possible words after the starter:
broth, brunt, drift, droit, front, froth, frost, fritz, fruit, grift, grist, grout, grunt, orbit, print, wrist
I wanted an eliminator that contained n, i (because it appears in different positions as well as being absent or present), fโฆ An r wouldnโt help; t would be very limited in helping; o would be very limited in helpingโฆ Fling might work well.
Using fling:
broth _____
brunt ___g_
drift __gy_
droit ___y_
front g__g_
froth g____
frost g____
fritz g_g__
fruit g_y__
grift y_g_y
grist __g_y
grout ____y
grunt ___gy
orbit __y__
print __gg_
wrist __g__
This would leave only 2 words that would yield the same pattern; the rest would give me a unique result after the eliminator. Unless the answer was grunt or grout, Iโd definitely solve this on row 3. I was happy with that.

GLOVE ๐ฏ๐ could have been globe, bloke, elope

If that last word turned out to be shout, that would be a lovely boost for you, springyzone! (And it was.)

This was a fairly straightforward one that I was able to do quickly.
Probably too quickly as I didn't even hesitate and made a mistake on the last word. Didn't even see the other possible answer till after it was done.
Never mind, even if I had known, I would have had to choose one or another and would probably still have chosen the word I initially went with, so no harm done.

After the eliminator, it could have been a _OOED pattern. Booed, mooed, pooed, wooed.
Or E_O__ hmm, can only see epoxy and ebook.
Or _OOEY โฆ gooey, hooey.
I really doubt itโs pooed! I also donโt think itโs hooey.
If pushed, Iโd also be less inclined to use a past tense verb, but it isnโt ruled out exactlyโฆ
Using a y-ending would rule out the _OOED wordsโฆ
GOOEY or EPOXY were my top choices. Gooey would rule out more options if my guess were wrong.
