WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

JOIST 🎯🍀 could have been hoist, moist, foist

STASH 🎯

SMOKE 🎯

DRANK 🎯🍀 could have been frank

UNITY 🎯

SUGAR 🎯

REBUS 🎯

NEXUS 🎯

I chose joist simply because Octordle loves using it… but it could have been any of the 3 others. Luck, pure luck.

Stash was obvious. Smoke just couldn’t be anything else. Drank was a risk, and I nearly did go for frank, especially because of the earlier foist option.

I spent longer on unity than I should have. It was obviously _NIT_ but my mind was somehow ruling Y out.

Sugar was obvious then. Rebus was the only possibility for 4R, and that gave me nexus.

After my first word, I consoled myself the second would surely have to do better and it did, but not by much.
My initial thought was..... this will end in Y.
It could be puppy or fudgy or curry/curvy or buggy or jumpy. Or buddy or dumpy.
I am sure there are loads of others.
I just tried gumbo as eliminator and it gave me enough to solve it.

After my third turn, I felt stuck.
#1, maybe deter, meter, tepee
#3 stare/stage/stake/stave/spate
#4 comet or covet
#5 flier or plier
#6 miser or wiser
#7 vapor, favor
#8 small, scald, sadly

In the end, I threw my hands up in horror and just tried out fudgy, which wasn't of maximum help but it gave enough to go on with. In the end, it still came down to a guess.

I dodged a bullet on this one. I almost went for trial for #7 on turn 2 so got a surprise to see O pop up when I went with the usual.
#8 did not please me. Give us a break, I thought.

The puzzle went fine till the end, when I was left with, you guessed it, #8. round/mound/pound so I went with eliminator crump rather than try guessing.
