WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

This looks bad but was actually quick to solve once I got past the initial bits. I didn't solve the first word though till turn 5, hence the low score.

The first word is one I usually use as a second eliminator. That's about the extent of my ringing of the changes-to switch the order of eliminators.

Getting the yellow in 3rd position really threw me. Just about every word I could think of to suit the ending had the yellow letter in 3rd place. I knew #2 was wrong but I was trying to eliminate letters. After that, I figured I could go all day with that approach as there were a lot, so I had to sit down and work through each unused letter to see what else I could make.

American spelling alert. Maybe Australian by now too.

The RHS word, we have seen several times before in games. Once you realise something is missing in the word, there aren't that many directions to go.

I dare not say what starter I used. What I will say is that I worked out that there could only be three possible second letters, and I narrowed down the third letter to five possibles. Well, I used a second-row word that contained 4 of the possibles PLUS one of the other three possibles. 

I struck it lucky, as the grizzled old opal hunter said.
