I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Reasonably happy with this although I did make a blunder on one attempt as I had missed one of the exposed letters.
I think this game will be right up your alley, Countess. You'll see what i mean when you play it. This may be a 40 score for you!

We both did well with a 2-row victory, springyzone!
My starter was the sort that tries to pass through the eye of a needle.

A suspicious eliminator was needed to sort out the right word.

This was good!
I was especially pleased with getting that top left word, having only 2 letters in place and one yellow.

I’m posting on my phone, so I can’t access the spoiler command except by replying to a post that uses it, editing with my own reply, and pasting the relevant bit inside the spoiler section. So that’s what I’ve done.
I am posting the entire Octordle gameplay below.
As you can see, I did need one eliminator in the 2nd row, although I could have solved two more words before playing the eliminator… but the eliminator not only gave me other letters, but also ruled out other possible words for the rest of it.

😁I don't usually remember answers from the day before but looking at my post reminded me.
You're a 'wordler' after my granddaughter's heart. She loves her animal starters!
I can't see your octordle for yesterday (it may be there but sometimes my computer mixes the order of posts on longer topics). One of the starting words was trace, if I recall, and I thought there was a possibility you might get a word in one.
Today's wordle.

This is my day!!
I think this is my best score ever, my personal best or at least equal to it!
I started with ocean, which was okay but not amazing, so then used flirt.
With this game, I found that when I guessed one word correctly, it often helped with another word. Today I never actually had any situations where I had to toss up between alternatives.
