WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

It wouldn't be a hole in one but it would give you a decent clue.

I was lucky to get it in 2 as I was very drawn to a slithery animal word instead.

Helpful eliminators, got all 5 letters from them. Possibly could have had a go at turn 2 but it wasn't a sure thing.

Octordle today. Not hard but I got waylaid by a couple of logical enough guesses that weren't 'it'.

In particular,  with #4, right near the very start, I had 2 possibilities in mind but left it in the hope one of the possible starting letters would be revealed elsewhere. No such luck. And I tried the wrong one first.

I used TRACE as my starter, and carefully chose my eliminator to knock out or confirm two vowels and three consonants that I thought were likely contenders.

I had to work for this, spending a long time thinking before trying my first eliminator, and taking a risk with bottom left because of the wide pool of possible 4th position letters.

Top left was a logical possibility but not a “definite” — another risk.

I was almost about to try top left as a word with a P (not yet played)… when my mind said “It might be that horrible abbreviation with an X”… and the suspicion became a feeling of conviction. My mind was right.

There was another trap with the start of another word. The obvious first letter was very tempting, and sheer luck stopped me.

Forge was one of the traps I avoided. The trouble is that it’s the most logical word choice! I avoided it purely by luck and gut feeling, and any other day I might have played it.

This was quite an easy one today, except for #6. I knew it was probably one of 3 choices, but the middle letter was the sticking point. I ran through all 3 before getting it. Alert: American spelling.
