WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

The bot huffed and puffed a bit over my eliminator, but there were possible words not eliminated by its preferred second row eliminator whereas mine ruled out or in most of the possible words I could see as the solution.

Its preferred choice didn’t get it to the solution one whit faster then mine, so… pffffft to the bot!

I made a bit of a guess with bottom right; with O _ G E it could have meant a U or a D, and that left the field open to 4 possible words. As it turned out, my guess was correct.

I had a 50/50 choice in 3L. The last four letters were obvious but the initial letter was one of two possibilities. Luck again.

I started with TRACE and used LINGO as my 2nd row eliminator.

I play every day, and read this thread every day (making sure I play first so I don't have any clues), but don't post as I'm not always very successful.

But today, I lucked out, and had to post as I don't think I'll ever see a score like this again.

A lucky guess with the first word, then I could only think of one word for top left.

I needed an eliminator on the third guess, but the rest just flowed for me, with the help of a couple of educated guesses along the way.

OMG treechange, that is incredible. Fantastic effort, congratulations.

You should post sometimes, it doesn't matter if you're not always successful. If you have been watching, you'll know that I am not either.

Today I felt really pleased with myself as I got 52 in octordle.

For me, that is as good as it gets!

With wordle, I am kicking myself as the answer was going to be my second word but for some reason I second guessed myself and went for the more unlikely word.

Your score of 52 is a great one, I'm always happy if I can get under 60.

I prefer to forget my bad ones, but I might post occasionally.

What a stunning result!

I didn’t do as well, but my starter was an anagram of bottom left. On any other day I’d have been very pleased with my 50, but holy cheddar on a plate, 42 outdoes it!

You'd think with 3 yellows on the first go, I'd have worked it out sooner. That middle yellow cut out a lot of of possible words. But not enough.😂
