WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-26/why-wordle-has-become-a-new-online-obsession/100782794

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I am happy with this, considering.

Spoiler
I made a mistake about half way through. I tried gruel. Why my mind goes to the least likely choice, I don't know. After that bombed out, I had another look at the remaining letters and thought of course, cruel.
And #3 stumped me for a bit, but by the end that was about all it could be. It just looks wrong.

Abyss and hydro. I feel as if any time Y is not at the end, there is only a small list of words these puzzle makers use and by now, we've seen most of them several times.

There were a few slippery sinkholes here - that is, choices to make where one might be tempted to play a word without checking that it couldn’t be the word. A moment’s thoughtlessness could ruin it.

I suspected a possible pattern of __ELT or __ENT or _E_ST, among others, but those were not the only possible patterns. EXIST, INEPT, STEIN, etc. - all possible. Ruling in or out the position of “E” in 3rd place, the inclusion of “N” and “S” (“P” as well for good measure) seemed like a better way forward than including other vowels.

I just realised that I didn't do Wordle yesterday.  Probably would have got it in 4, just as I did today.

I was really surprised to get under 60 today because it went down almost to the wire.

I'm wondering if they have moved the bars a bit lately.

Several of these words are on repeat and I think #7 could have been out very recently, although I sometimes do the other octordles so I could be getting mixed up with one of them. I know I saw it not long ago though.

I used an eliminator at turn 5

Spoiler
pricy.

Then I made a mistake further down

Spoiler
for #1, I tried ninny. I just couldn't work out what it could be. The main reason I tried it was because it had a repeat letter, which I thought would be just their style.
