WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Fizzy was a perfectly good guess. There was no logical reason for the solution to have been jiffy rather than fizzy… so at least I am not left kicking myself.

Bimbo was a logical choice; it’s popped up several times on Wordle. That was bad luck.

I did do wordle on the phone yesterday and I did poorly, very poorly. I didn't get it till my 5th turn.

I went through 4 eliminators (all of which you can probably guess, except my last was fudge instead of fudgy).

Today, a bit better.

alien, then scout/ I did this mostly because of the position of the yellows. I thought a 2/5 vowel pattern position was likely and I was thinking perhaps something like since/wince/mince or maybe singe or niche etc but in any case, I thought a C might potentially be more useful. It wasn't. But the T was.

I started with a risk, deign or reign & slid past without being dinged.
I had debated #1 stall or stalk or #2 sheep/sheer/shred/shrew(unlikely) but no spot looked clear cut at that stage and #3 seemed the best one with a 50/50 chance. Reign seemed slightly more likely in the classic than deign.
But I was getting towatds the end when I looked at #5 and thought... could it have been that easy? Could I just have had 3 eliminators in a row (alien/shout/pricy). I was excited to try pricy. It was wrong. I should  have been concentrating on #2 as by then I had narrowed it down, but I had mentally marked it earlier as lots of possibilities. Need to pay better attention!
