I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

This gave off vibes of another game several days back.
I was looking at #1 and thinking (on turn 3) shush or shuck.
Ar least shuck tried out 2 new letters and S/H were not contenders in other words anyway.
It felt as if some of these words were a bit tired. Jumbo, piney, circa
My guess on #8 would have been nerdy had the R not been out of contention as that is another fav of theirs.😂
It is funny as for #4, I was actually thinking.. mumbo? gumbo? But when I saw jumbo as a possibility that instantly moved into first preference.😁

The eliminator saved my bacon. This was one of those Wordles which can trap one in an endless list of possible letters.

If I hadn’t used bipod, I wouldn’t have solved this on row 3. In fact, even row 4 would have been problematic.

Didn't get a chance to be on computer yesterday as I was out.
I did do the games on my phone during the day.
The wordle took me several goes but I forget what I tried.
alien/shout to start with, that I know.
Both octordles were very average, one of them in the high 50s, but can't recall which one.
Today's games, not much better.

Most annoying game. After turn 3, I could see #8 was probably shook or shock and #7 sworn/scorn/spoon.
I was almost inclined to try another eliminator (pricy) but decided to try shock as at least it exposed the C.
I didn't guess #1 till towards the end but thought, what does it think it is, the extreme or something?
And even at the very end, #2 could have been vixen.
So things could have been worse for me, score wise.

After turn 3, I wasn't sure of anything. I had a couple of possibilities for most of them, so I went with pricy as another eliminator. It proved useful, at least it cleared things up a bit. I knew #3 was not ranch and #5 not scone or snope.
Took me a while to solve #1.
And I made a mistake on #6 but at least it was possible.

I've just realised your posts from this morning were for yesterday, not today. Sorry I didn't put my results in spoilers but I am guessing you will have done yours before you come on, anyway.
