WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

This worked out to be an easy one for me in that I started solving at turn 3 and didn't make any mistakes.

I just had another look over my results and I am satisfied I could not have started solving after turn 1 unless I had taken a wild guess, I just didn't have enough information. So 52 was about as good as I could get. Beats my usual, anyway.😂

As it was, I took a risk with #8.

Luck again: I decided on GORGE rather than GORSE. I kept hoping an “s” or lack of one would pop up before I had to solve that…

At last! I did wordle on phone yesterday, took 3.

Octordle, I made several wrong guesses and ended up with score well into the 60s, forget exactly what it was. About 67 I think.😑

But I am back today, on my computer. How I do love a nice big screen and a proper keyboard. Not that this one is perfect, it tends to do doubles of letters if I am not careful.

Most satisfactory (for me)

After my first 2 turns, I could not see what else 3L could be so I just went for it & fortune smiled.

4L also seemed obvious ( I had the i so tacky wasn't a possibility)

But after that I stalled and thought I might need another eliminator. Then I thought-countess would not give up, she would work harder at it. I often have a habit of going for another eliminator very quickly.

And so i eventually got there but I have to say 2R was a big risk. I could see it could not be lingo, but bingo or maybe even jingo were possibilities. I thought jingo was more unlikely.

But I got lucky on that final word.

This one was tricky for me. A few repeat words. You almost begin to feel as if they are old friends.

My problem was that for several words, even towards the end, I had too many possibilities. Made a few wrong guesses.
