WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Right after turn 1, I was looking at #2 and thinking-angel or angle? and I saw #1 and immediately thought sully. But being hasty and rushing in is my downfall, so I forced myself to consider and thought, hang on, it could be sulky or maybe even surly. 
And as for #4, plenty of possibilities.
So I just went with shout as usual for turn 2.😁
It helped a lot but I kept looking at #5 and all I could think of was outre, but luckily I left that one too.
I used another eliminator on the way down but got there in the end.

For Octordle, I knew it had to be the word with double letters as I’d already ruled out both of the letters you mentioned, springy.

You know, when you see 3 letters exposed in the first move, it can make you think the answer will be easy.
But I have found those particular letters (A L E) can be used in about 15 combinations (and counting), even allowing for letter placement.
So it is a bit dicey to just have a guess.
My first thoughts were steal, stale, leafy and pearl.
But medal, metal, petal.. the list is endless!

And exactly the same letter combo came out in octordle today, so I wonder if the makers deliberately look for words with these letters, just to make the task trickier.

Anyhow, second word was spurt, as quite a few of my possible list had the letters S, T or R.

My own fault I scored badly today.

I should have just used an eliminator on turn 5.

I went for stray on #5. Wrong.
 Quickly thought oh of course, it must be strap, nothing else i can think of.
Wrong, but after that, I was so disgusted (as I could see the answer by then) that I ignored it and went to another word to teach it a lesson.😂

Then as if that wasn't bad enough, on #2 I only had the letters N E with Y on end and for some reason, all I could think of was neddy.😁

Oh well, it was that sort of day, I actually did better in the so called harder versions of octordle.

If I’d gone with my gut, I’d have guessed this in row 2. But it could have been quite a few other words - so I played it safe and used an eliminator.
