Waleed Aly applauds Africans Standing Up Against White Privilege

The Project host was trending on Twitter on Monday after XYZ published an article about him titled: 'Waleed Aly applauds African gang who assaulted young girl at train station for 'courageously standing up to white privilege''.

The basis of the story was entirely made up, as proven by a tag above the headline which identified it as satire.

If you like them so much, it would be great if you knew how to spell their names correctly.

OMG now the spelling police are getting involved, as well as the thread-title police...

Gosh, spelling police now!

I forgot that his name is spelt the other way as Waleed. I have a cobber called Walid. His name I believe is spelt as Walid.

I stand corrected. Happy now!

Agree, 4chan. I think the proper spelling would be Walid in the part of the world where our Mr Waleed Aly hails from.

He's probably just turned it that way so us dumb aussies can pronounce it properly.

I'm puzzled:

The title reads  Waleed Aly applauds Africans Standing Up Against White Privilege.

Your very first post makes it quite clear that  he didn't.

Why would you feel the need to use something you knew to be a blatant lie as a thread title?
