WALEED ALY GRILLED MALCOLM TURNBULL OVER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FUNDING
Waleed Aly's blistering editorial on the level of funding and attention the Government pays to the prevention and support of Domestic Violence in Australia was a sobering and extremely important in-depth look at the issue - the likes of which is rarely seen on Australian broadcast television, much less the free-to-air networks.
Mr Aly lists his religion as sunni muslim.
The Qur'an:
Qur'an (4:34) - "Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great." Contemporary translations sometimes water down this word, but it is the same one used in verse 8:12 and clearly means 'to strike'.
Qur'an (38:44) - "And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it, and do not break your oath..." Allah telling Job to beat his wife
Next week The Project will feature a special studio guest. Ivan Milat will talk about his intention to start up a company that takes back-packers on guided tours of the Bangalo State Forest.

That would encroach on the rights of people to be able to express themselves freely wouldn't it?
I guess we can choose to read it and comment..... or ignore it?
I would prefer a moderation that directs the reproof to the person needing it.

the torah IS part of the bible.
the hebrew part of the bible.
The Torah is the five books of the bible supposedly written by Moses. It is, as mentioned before:
the primary scripture of the faith of Judaism It is the single most important reference for all matters of faith, social practice, the contemplation of law and the understanding of the Divine. It is also a direct link to Judaism's beloved prophet, Moses, the man who both received as well as first disseminated the holy message of the text. and
It explicitly orders violence against womn under certain circumstances. So, in the context of this thread, the question which nobody seems able (or willing) to answer still remains. would it be offensive and hypocritical for a person of the Jewish fait to speak out against vilonece towards women?

Hey! Don't respond to ME lol. Mine was a statement, not a question.
But I would LOVE it if someone would respond to she-els question. She has only asked it 5 times already (or more perhaps?) but no one seems to be able to get their head around the possibility of a race not on their hate list touting violence towards women.

Is that not the basic premise of this whole thread?
Attack a man who spoke out against domestic violence because he is muslim and all muslims must believe violence against women is their right.

Exactly
