Science hasn't proven anything just yet, its a hypothesis put forward by two scientists.

don't get me wrong, science will unravel the nature of reality- it's just a matter of time but this isnt definitve proof.

I saw that mermaid doco, Annie. Supposedly though the "evidence" that was in those scientists' possession was allegedly confiscated or otherwise disappeared which unfortunately most people will find a little too convenient.
