We're Going To See Philomena Tomorrow

The Movie, that is,

From the TV ads it should be good and I love Dame Judy.

Our closest cinema is the Hayden Orpheum at Cremorne. It's a restored Cinema which first opened in 1935, then fell into decay and was bought and restored to it's old Art Deco beauty in the 1980s.

I never thought you were...
I guess "lady" didn't rhyme with Eurobadalla lol
It was a Bodalla cheese ad from ages ago

Someone on here, I can't remember who, did just recently Woman LOL

Unfortunatly they don't make cheese at the old Bodalla factory anymore.  It's quite run down and neglected now.  There is a new enterprise in Bodalla which is processing their own milk and cheese.  Also people in Tilba (River Cottage Australia district) are getting back into dairy produce again.  They are in the old ABC Cheese factory.

Sorry for the hijack.  Back to the movies now.

Wasn't it Mike Walshe who bought and renovated the Theatre Icy?

Mike Walsh bought up a few old cinemas and restored them, I've been in Richmond one:

OH and I just got back from watching Dame Judy Dench in Philomena.

The theatre it was screened in was actually the Walsh Theatre, Gilly 🙂

It was a bit soppy for OH, he said, but OK.

I Iiked it very much and had a few tears about it. OH always shakes his head at me when I cry in sad movies.

The aircon in the cinema was deliciously chilly.

There were lots of ppl there, so it's definitely a well visited cinema and a paying concern.

Cremorne is always packed. And cold!

We come every few months to see The Mello-O-Tones big band play followed by an old movie. The old guys did a Glenn Miller concert last month and then Meet Me in St Louis.

They often have good jazz singers with them. Diana Kralls fronted with them a few times over the last couple of years.

I'm not into jazz much, martini, but I've seen the mello-tones concerts advertised. Even today the Art Deco licenced bar was in full swing with ppl sitting in the lounges.

We've been to the Hero of Waterloo when Valda Marshall and The Old Time Band where playing.

My son never misses a visit  there when he's visiting from London

Went and saw Philomena tonight icy. Not at Cremorne but at Newtown.

Nice enough movie but wasn't rivetting. I was disappointed. Smiley Sad
