How low can folk go?
People of country NSW have been inundated with flooding after flooding after floodingโฆโฆ
Some are also dealing with the loss of life of loved onesโฆ.. so sadโฆ. But now it gets worse.
LOOTING!
Folk who had to evacuate due to floods, have come back to find items missing, valuable items that for what ever reason you canโt just pack up and move when a flood is imminentโฆ..
Thieving mongrels ๐ก
Talk about low-lifes!

That's horrible, Jane. Absolute scum.
Some people are not even worthy of being called human...
I was reading something similar not too long ago. A man had had an accident in NY, and instead of helping or seeing if he was still alive (he was not), some scum started stealing his phone, wallet etc. Disgusting!

The scum are always with us, always have been. Always ready to take advantage of anyone else's hardship.
I can remember when I was young, 'Uncle' Percy as we knew him (boyfriend of my great grandmother-long story) was hit by a car and killed. Hit and run, left on the side of the road.
As if that wasn't enough, someone then stole his wallet. I can still recall the adults talking about it in hushed voices, but disgusted.
I think looters should be hit with the full force of the law. No excuses.

This is sort of on a tangent but still relevant I think.
A good friend of mine has a daughter who lives up in the Dandenong Ranges.
It's a hilly area. It is known for all the trees and ferns there and in summer, fires could be a danger.
In the recent storms, the wind brought down a big gum tree next to the daughter's house. It didn't damage the roof much as such but it demolished the heater, which needed to be replaced under insurance. There was $1000 excess on the policy so the company wasn't up for the complete cost.
The daughter pays her insurance monthly and just received her new bill.
Get this.
It has gone up $900 a month.
The company (Alliance, if anyone is wondering) said that it is because she is in a flood prone area.
She isn't. No river or creek nearby and up in the hills. They are confusing storm damage with flood damage, I think.
But in their own way, I think the insurance companies are like looters and need watching. They are going to take advantage of the recent floods and force anyone who makes any type of claim to look elsewhere or pay exorbitant prices.

How are things now, Jane?
It's a fine day here so hopefully things are improving over your way too.

Everything OK, Jane? How are you?
