Thanks Pimpy,
I'm very much the same as you. Point, shoot and hope for the best.
The camera I have is a Canon EOS 450D (whatever that is).
The small lens I use has a polarized filter on it and the zoom lens I have has a UV filter on it.
I can never be bothered swapping them around.
Had this one nearly 6 years now.
I'm interested in those Macro things, have to save up.

Seems a fair few of us have DSLR's and really aren't making proper use of them, note to self, explore the camera more. I would like a lense that does Panorama's.

I told a lie back there, and I've been fighting with my modem for the past two hours to get back on and correct it.
My nieces camera is not a D5000 it's a D90 (or 60) I think Crystals daughter may have the same one, they got them about the same time. It's a great camera, but for some reason she likes hers mums better, probably only because it's newer. I've been meaning to ask her what the portrait lens is she uses. She takes lovely portraits of people and pets.
I use my Olympus camera for up close and personal stuff, and panaroma. I bought the Nikon mainly for koala pics.
Might drag the manuals out tonight and have a read
