Abstract Photography

Like abstract art, Abstract photography concentrates on shape, form, colour, pattern and texture. The viewer is often unable to see the whole object. The focus is often only a small part of it. Viewers of an abstract shot may only know the essence of the abstraction or understand it by what is implied. Normally the object or image will not be a literal view of the subject. The subject tends to come second to seeing…

  • Patterns.
  • Textures.
  • Angles.
  • Proximity (closeness and distance from the subject).
  • Crop (especially of segments or parts of the whole).
  • Colour variation.
  • Tonal variation.
  • Hard light rendering of the subject.
  • Soft light rendering of the subject.
  • Shape (2D).
  • Form (3D).
  • Curves.
  • Geometry.
  • Focus and depth of field.
  • Blur.
  • Expression of movement.

Post 160 is not an entry, just an example of "medium" for solutions.

please do not vote on it.

I did not take it and had run out of pics for this thread.

i have a few that are too big.

how do i resize?

will check back tomorrow...err...later today...

Solutions, as I said above, any image which is accepted by ebay will be automatically resized to fit. There should no need at all to alter the image size in the Insert Image window unless you actually want to make it smaller than the 800-odd pixels to which it is resized automatically.

If the file you're trying to import is too large because it was photographed at an extremely high resolution, you will receive the message below which indicates that its size is in excess of 3,0722Kb in which case you will need to reduce its size externally to less than 3,072Kb by using your favourite graphics app.

Once done, if it is then accepted by ebay there will be no need to change any of the Insert Window parameters as it will now be resized automatically just as compliant images normally are. Essentially, if it accepted by ebay, it is not too large.

Hope that clarifies things for you. 🙂

This is my favourite, I could hang this on my wall. It makes me wonder what the girl looks like, and what is she doing.

My head is filling in the picture with an image of a blonde girl in a white dress, sitting on a picnic blanket on a green grassy hill covered in daisies. She is under a tree with dappled light falling on her face.

Just love it, BoK

EDIT:  I have no idea if it a girl or not. It could be an apple and a pear, but I love that it makes gets my imagination working.
