They are lovely photos Flashie, and they are monochrome.
As always the theme is a prompt not a rule. This is a hard challenge because of privacy reasons and and the fear of your photos being used against you by others. I won't be contributing any people portraits, although I will try and get the cat in.
If the prompt challenges you to try different filters and effects in monochrome (B&W, sepia, purple) then it has served it's purpose.

Yeah I agree, I do like the idea behind having a theme though, makes it interesting.
Gets you thinking.

Have faith that the voters will kudo the photos that best fit the theme. It's certainly a challenging challenge this week. There aren't that many entries, I think half the posts are chitchat. There are portaits that aren't monochrome, and monochrome pics that aren't portraits but they still show the poster has been inspired by the challenge to try something new. Given that there are fewer entries this week I'm happy for them to stay. I really don't want to get into a debate about it, please just enjoy the photos and kudo the one that best fits the theme and tickles your fancy.

Flashie's pics could be intrepreted as a self portrait, reflecting herself and interests. You could take it even further, particularly with the house, this is often a representation of a person. And the trees well of course this can be linked to her fascination with family history research 😄
