I know these are not portraits.................but they look lovely...............so if you feel they donot fit this weeks theme jsut enjoy and skip the kudo part.

I wish I'd had the nerve to ask if I could photograph some of the faces, young and old, at this mornings march.

They are lovely photos Flashie, and they are monochrome.

As always the theme is a prompt not a rule. This is a hard challenge because of privacy reasons and and the fear of your photos being used against you by others. I won't be contributing any people portraits, although I will try and get the cat in.

If the prompt challenges you to try different filters and effects in monochrome (B&W, sepia, purple) then it has served it's purpose.

Like pimpy said, there are no rules to these threads, other than the ones at the start I.e., must be your own work etc.
people get to vote (kudo) what they like.
Just enjoy it for what it is.

Yeah I agree, I do like the idea behind having a theme though, makes it interesting.
Gets you thinking.

Re: Weekly photo challenge. Theme is PORTRAITURE in MONOCHROME

Have faith that the voters will kudo the photos that best fit the theme.  It's certainly a challenging challenge this week. There aren't that many entries, I think half the posts are chitchat. There are portaits that aren't monochrome, and monochrome pics that aren't portraits but they still show the poster has been inspired by the challenge to try something new. Given that there are fewer entries this week I'm happy for them to stay. I really don't want to get into a debate about it, please just enjoy the photos and kudo the one that best fits the theme and tickles your fancy.

Flashie's pics could be intrepreted as a self portrait, reflecting herself and interests. You could take it even further, particularly with the house, this is often a representation of a person. And the trees well of course this can be linked to her fascination with family history research 😄

Re: Weekly photo challenge. Theme is PORTRAITURE in MONOCHROME

Did my post come across as not intended?
I have kudo'd pics that are not of a person, I don't care that much what pic a person puts up and I like what grabs me. I was just trying to say that (for me) I like trying to stick close to the theme as it's a challenge.
Sorry if it feels like I was trying to bring a debate into this
