i would join and I should join but that would mean getting on the scales and the thought of that makes me cry...seriously. I cant take a normal breath and actually feel scared at the thought of it...so I'll be in if I can work in cm's off? rather than kg's lost?

Totally chuk, I wont be getting on no scales either. I'm going for the cm stratedgy as well 🙂 We are all in it for ourselves and here for each other so every little bit counts, and you have to start somewhere. It's going to be nice to keep a record and to see how everyone goes.

Hi Jean, In the library one day, I spotted a book..."The Dukan Diet Life Plan", by Pierre Dukan, a French doctor. It is readily available at any public library.
It is a three step plan, first phase is a short period of eating pure proteins, second phase is longer, which recommends 2days a week, eating pure protein, other 5 days is protein + veggies. Third phase is much longer, like months, but quite liberal in what you can eat. I had a few headaches in the beginning, and I'd think that anyone with health problems at all should be checking in with their GP that this is for them, or any diet for that matter.
The book lists all the allowable foods, but the recipes are total carp! I made up my own.
The ideal weight for myself is 66kg (based on body/mass/index (BMI) standard) There are plenty of calculators on the net for people to work out their ideal healthy weight.

75 😞 Would like to get to 60 but will aim for 64 for now.
I am lazy. I mean really really lazy. I have started going for a bike ride some afternoons now to give the dog a run because I'm not playing with him enough.
I thought I was riding 6 km's (sure felt like it) but then I clocked it in the car and it was only 3 km's, bugga.
Also I love chocolate and almost panic if there is none in the house.
Joono, that fitbits thingy looks interesting. which gadget do you have?

I've got the Fitbit One, Pimpy. I'm sure they are all good.
You can even log that bike ride in and it will adjust your calorie burn and allow you that extra square of chocolate
My brother-in-law has found it a great help. He's had a double hip replacement twice! The first ones had to be replaced because he was given the dodgy ones from Zimmer and ended up with metal poisoning (cadmium? not sure). That's an on going court case still.
Anyway, he really did need to lose some kilos to help keep him fit after all that down time. I think his was given to him for Christmas and so far he has lost 14kg. So has his fat Labrador too :D. He is better than me and walks about 20,000 steps.

I weigh around 54kg, I got plumpy and then kind of accidentally lost some weight around 10 years ago and am never ever going to find it again.

but he keeps finding his way home
On the fitbits website there are 3 gadgets. I'm thinking the green one would do?
