The smoke from fires at Hotham and Feathertop have just gone over us here 😞 My grown children have a lodge at Hotham so are concerned this evening.

Anyone heard from Bella today?

Twinkle thanks for thinking of me, we are very smoke affected but a fair way from the fire at present.  The next 20 hours or so will be crucial for Hotham and Falls creek.  There has been a wind change but I am not sure how that has impacted the fires movement yet.  Next warning comes out around 11pm. Tomorrow evening is the time they are most concerned about.

Anyone who is up that way please stay safe

The smoke from the fires is quite bad where I am north central vic, close to the Mansfield/Merrijig fire.

Bella I was born in Mt Beauty and lived there until I was 5yo so have a bit of an attachment to the area.

Take care everyone

Wow its def a small world.  Mt Beauty is  a beautiful place and a great place to grow up in 🙂  Hopefully they are able to contain the fires to some extent soon.  They have put a lot of effort in on the Harriet ville side where the fire is more accessible.  Hoping everyone stays safe with all the fires around the state atm esp around the Gippsland area.

Stay safe Bella. We have friends in Bright as you know....they also belong to the lodge.

Apparently the smoke we are getting is coming from Gippsland not the Alpine...had to close the windows due to it:( Must be awful for those living closer.
