It seems some people are raging about NYE party cancellation.
Did they really cancel or is it a hoax?

I thought I read somewhere it was the world's biggest and best, featuring attractions others don't have so I guess it would be more expensive but just having a look, general admission day pass is only $10 more than the GC one @ 69.99 for an adult and $54.99 for Juniors (under 110cm)

Gold Coast theme parks don't charge for parking. I am not sure about Locker charges. I know Dreamworld say no food to be brought in, not sure that the other two parks have same rule. Wet n Wild and Movieworld (they owned by different group than Dreamworld).
I don't think Gold Coast theme parks have the over capacity/park closed problem either... what if you only have one day in the school hols you can take your kids to Wet n Wild (because parents work) and you travel there and can't get in? People might decide to travel a bit further and go to the Jamberoo Rec and Fun Water park instead.
Mon - Fri in non peak times.. Wet n Wild will still need customers.. who will they be? Families with pre school children paying $300 a visit?
If people want to smoke outdoors in the theme parks, QLD does allow that at present.

Gold Coast theme parks - have multiple park discount deals, pay for one day get 2nd free etc. They also have coupons on supermarket dockets for locals with a good discount for entry.
Wet n Wild Sydney so far, just has single admission days and the season passes (which are already sold out).
World’s tallest Sydney SkyCoaster to the World’s first combination 360Rush and H2GO Racer plus everything in between.
Which you have to pay extra to go on per ride.

They haven't got off to a good start, that's for sure.
Can't see them going broke though. That area is a huge growth are with several new housing estates being built up right now, and the tourist trade will boost the numbers. I know my family are keen to when they're next down for a holiday.
It still looks really unattractive at the moment though. No shade trees, no green grassy areas, construction fences still around it.

Does anyoe know the capacity?
It sounds like they're reaching capacity early in the day. Bus loads of people have been turned away. Is it possible to actually reserve a place or do they leave home before capacity is reached only to get there and find it has been reached. The comments of one man suggest he may have rang before driving from CC only to find they were full by the time he arrived

W n W do post on their facebook page when they have reached capacity and are closed for more arrivals. They also suggest a time to come later that day.
With all the publicity the park is getting over the concert and being over capacity, more people might realise they should check before they leave home - that they will be able to get in to the park.
We live about 1.5-2 hours away. I imagine there could be quite a few people in surrounding areas of Sydney, that would head for the water park in the holidays and may find they can't get in. Although we do have a big water park nearby, which was the largest Water theme park in NSW before W n W opened.
No you can't book in. It would be what ever number is allowed that get there first, that get in.

People might just go to Jambaroo and not bother with the drive.

Will the interest wane in the Winter for a water park in Sydney? The weather here is not as warm as QLD.
I think Jamberoo water park will still be a good option for families with smaller children. The under 110cm kids, that can't go on some of the more exciting rides at Wet n Wild anyway as they don't meet the height requirements.

I guess people will have to arrive early to make sure they get in, as is the case with other venues.
My daughter just got back from GC (they do charge for lockers) A bit disappointing they close at 5pm considering you can easily wait for an hour to get on a ride. Sydney Wet'n'Wild is open from 10am - 11pm.
I've been to Jambaroo a couple of times. Its fun but not the same.

How much do season passes cost? Children under 4 get in for free, I think.

umm,, you don't see a problem with that, if the majority of people do the same thing?
We were told that when we went to Universal Studios in Orlando.. wanted to get to the Harry Potter part before it got too busy.. was packed and we got there at the earliest possible time. Hotel staff etc, tell you to get there early as posssible.. most people take that advice!
Weren't the charges for Wet n Wild for a child under 110cm.. no mention of any ages or free entry.
Yes, closing at 5pm isn't that great, especially when it is busy and you have to wait a long time for rides.
Jamberoo would be fun for under 10yo's though wouldn't it. Or the ones under 110cm that are restricted from going on the super rides at Wet and Wild anyway?
Season pass costs I posted earlier.. it was a quote from a news article.
The are only 'season' passes though, not 6 mth pass or yearly pass.
QLD theme parks 3 parks $99 annual pass ( Dreamworld not part of that group).
